1.1.1. General safety instructions
Scrupulously observe the warnings and instructions given in this manual. Refer to chapter
3 “Safety

” before carrying out any work on the system.
Maintenance must be carried out with utmost care by qualified personnel. It is important to fully understand
the construction of the machine and know the other technical information given in this manual.

The machine has been designed to comply with the following regulations and standards:

1.2. INTENDED USE
The SOUND2 equipment is a listening system for mills. It is an electro-acoustic device based on monitoring
the filling level of ball mills. It can be likened to an electronic ear that picks up the sounds of the mill.
This noise varies with the product and the mill filling level.
The SOUND 2 system includes a highly sensitive microphone fitted to the inlet of the mill, at the point of
impact of the grinding ball, as close as possible to the mill.
1.3. TARGET AUDIENCE
The machine is intended to be used by qualified personnel trained in how to operate it.
1.4. CONTRAINDICATIONS
The machine must not be used in the following situations:
− In an ATEX (explosive atmospheres) environment,
− For any use other than that defined in chapter
1.2.
