5.7. CALIBRATING THE SOUND2
By calibrating the SOUND2, it learns the filling levels of the mill. It can only be accessed with the
“Maintenance” security level.
5.7.1. Initial mill status
On the main page, check the maximum frequency of the mill in operation: A large mill is characterised by a
lower frequency.
The default frequency range for the SOUND2 is 300 Hz to 4,500 Hz:
− If a frequency is detected between 300 Hz and 4,500 Hz, calibration can be carried out.
− If no frequency is detected, the “Max Frequency” value is 0 Hz.
The mill is calibrated with the filling level empty and then almost full.
Empty the material out of the mill to carry out the first calibration phase, while keeping the balls
inside.
5.7.2. Accessing Calibration menu
To go to the “Calibration” menu from the homepage:
1. Press the “Calibration” key
OR
1. Press the “Menu” key
2. Scroll down and go into the “Calibration” menu
3. Go into the “Sound2 Calibration” menu . The Calibration menu is displayed as follows:

4. Select “Gain” then press “Enter”
5. Set the gain value to 30 then press “Enter”.
5.7.3. Starting a calibration procedure
The user can calibrate their mixture using Calibration points, as shown in the graph below with 2
calibration points.
If greater accuracy is required, the SOUND2 accepts up to 5 calibration points. Multi-point
calibration gives a linear regression between all the calibration points.
