2. DESCRIPTION AND PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
This manual assumes that version 2.0.0.1 or higher of the SOUND 2 software is being used.
It cannot be used for earlier versions.
2.1. OVERVIEW OF THE SYSTEM
SOUND 2 is made up of five components:
A microphone with an adjustable mounting bracket,
An electronic unit with LCD screen,
A connector for the microphone cable,
A connector for the power cable,
A cable for the connection between the microphone and the unit.

2.2. DESCRIPTION OF THE UNIT
The aluminium enclosure of the SOUND2 complies with the IP65 standard (which means protection against
dust and water splashes) and is specially treated for EMC interference.
The connector is easy to reach via a separate cover on the underside of the product.
2.2.1. Presentation of the screen on the unit
The keypad has 11 keys and two LEDs.
Parameters and measurements are organised into several pages called “menus”. Access to the various menus
depends on the profile used (operator or maintenance, see section
2.3 page 18).
