4.20 Siderail Control Cable
Tools required: Phillips head screwdriver
Wire cutters
8 mm nut driver, deep well
Removal
1. Raise the head section to its highest position.
SHOCK HAZARD:
Disconnect the bed from its power source. Failure to do so could result
in personal injury or equipment damage.
2. Disconnect the bed from its power source.
3. Disconnect the battery cable from the control board (refer to procedure 4.7
on page 4-16).
4. Make a note showing the cable routing from the siderail (A) to the control
box assembly (B) (see figure 4-20 on page 4-48).
5. Remove the two screws (C) attaching the wire cover (D) to the siderail (A).
6. Remove the siderail control assembly (E) (refer to procedure 4.19 on page
4-44).
7. Remove the two screws (F) attaching the strain relief (G) to the siderail
control assembly (E) (see figure 4-20 on page 4-48).
8. Disconnect the connector (H) and carefully bend it down against the
siderail cable (I).
9. Push the connector (H) and the siderail cable (I) through the strain relief
(G) and out of the siderail control assembly (E).
10. Pull the siderail cable (I) through the notch (J) in the siderail (A).
11. Pull the spring strain relief (K) out of the bracket (L).
