1) Measure the vertical shaft O.D. at the needle bearing.

2) If the measurement is less than the service limit, replace
the vertical shaft with a new one.
c. INSPECTION
• FORWARD BEVEL GEAR I.D.
1) Measure the forward bevel gear I.D.
2) If the measurement exceeds the service limit, replace the
forward bevel gear with a new one.
