Intermec EasyCoder 201 II – Technical Manual
IC-12
The GAL circuit is a memory-mapped I/O address decoder. Differ-
ent types must be used depending on the size of SRAM packages
fitted on IC-5 through IC-8:
SRAM size 32 kbyte (256 kbit)
SRAM size 128 kbyte (1 Mbit)
SRAM size 512 kbyte (4 Mbit)
IC-14
The real-time clock circuit (RTC) is only fitted as standard in certain
models. It contains a clock/calendar with battery backup. When an
RTC is fitted on IC-14, the time and date do not have to be set
manually each time the printer is started. (See TIME$ and DATE$
variables in the Intermec Fingerprint Reference Manual or in the
Intermec Direct Protocol Programmer's Guide).
When installing an RTC, be careful to fit it with the semi-circular
marking pointing downwards, as seen when the CPU board is fitted
in the printer. Because of the risk of short-circuits, do not use any
conductive tools when fitting or removing the RTC!
ELECTRONICS, cont'd.
