System Settings
Preset
— SA Mode ONLY – With Continuous OFF each successive Run/Hold
press also causes a single sweep.
— Continuous ON OFF
Makes continuous sweeps. This is the typical
setting when battery power is not critical.
Preset
The Preset key restores the FieldFox measurement settings to a known
condition. You can preset the entire instrument, or just the current Mode (CAT,
SA, Power Meter, NA).
When Preset, the FieldFox CalReady calibration is recalled for use in CAT and
NA Modes. Learn more in “Preset Calibration (also known as CalReady)” on
page 7-3.
The following settings always survive Preset and Mode Preset:
— External Reference state (see “Frequency Reference Source” on
page 18-15)
— SA Units (see “Scale and Units” on page 8-8)
— SA Correction states (see “Field Strength Measurements” on page 8-12)
— VVM Display Resolution (see “Display Resolution” on page 14-5)
— Marker Peak Excursion and Threshold (see “What Is a ‘Peak’” on
page 16-10)
— Volume Control
How to Preset the FieldFox
—Press Preset.
— Then choose one of the following:
— Preset
Returns ALL Modes to the factory default settings.
— Mode Preset
Returns only the current Mode to the factory default
settings. The current settings for all other Modes remain.
User Preset
User Preset allows you to store custom settings for each mode, then recall the
settings when the Preset key is pressed. Your custom settings are saved to a
standard State file (UserPreset.sta). However, unlike State files, calibration
data is NOT saved. Learn more about State files in “Set File Type and Select
Device” on page 17-5.
