Idle Stop and Go (ISG) system
The engine will start and the green
AUTO STOP indicator ( ) on the
instrument cluster will go out.
The engine will also restart auto
-
matically without any driver
actions if the following occurs:
䳜 The brake vacuum pressure is
low.
䳜 The engine has stopped for about
5 minutes.
䳜 The air conditioning is ON with the
fan speed set to the highest posi
-
tion.
䳜 The front defroster is ON.
䳜 The battery is weak.
䳜 The cooling and heating perfor
-
mance of the climate control sys
-
tem is unsatisfactory.
䳜 The vehicle is shifted to P (Park)
when AUTO HOLD is activated.
䳜 The door is opened or the seat
-
belt is unfastened when AUTO
HOLD is activated.
䳜 The EPB switch is pressed when
AUTO HOLD is activated.
Operating conditions
The ISG will operate under the fol
-
lowing condition:
䳜 The driver's seatbelt is fastened.
䳜 The driver's door and hood are
closed.
䳜 The brake vacuum pressure is
adequate.
䳜 The battery sensor is activated
and the battery is sufficiently
charged.
䳜 Outside temperature is not too
low or too high.
䳜 The vehicle is driven over a con
-
stant speed and stops.
䳜 The climate control system satis
-
fies the conditions.
䳜 The vehicle is sufficiently warmed
up.
䳜 The incline is gradual.
䳜 The steering wheel is turned less
than 180 degrees and then the
vehicle stops.
䳜 If the ISG system does not meet
the operation condition, the ISG
system is deactivated. The light
on the ISG OFF button will illumi
-
nate and a message "Auto Stop
conditions not met" will appear on
the LCD display.
䳜 If the light or warning message
comes on continuously, please
check the operation condition.
