System disabled
When the front windshield where
the front view camera is located, is
covered with foreign material, such
as snow or rain, it can reduce the
detecting performance and tempo
-
rarily limit or disable Forward Colli
-
sion-Avoidance Assist.
If this occurs, the 'Forward Safety
system disabled. Camera obscured'
warning message, and the 「 」
and 「 」 warning lights will illu
-
minate on the cluster.
The system will operate normally
when snow, rain or foreign matter is
removed. Always keep it clean.
If the system does not operate nor
-
mally after obstruction (snow, rain,
or foreign material) is removed, we
recommend that the system be
inspected by an authorized Kia
dealer/service partner.
䳜 Even though the warning mes
-
sage or warning light does not
appear on the cluster, Forward
Collision-Avoidance Assist may
not properly operate.
䳜 Forward Collision-Avoidance
Assist may not properly operate
in an area (e.g. open terrain),
where any substance are not
detected after turning ON the
engine.
Limitations of the system
Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist
may not operate normally, or the
system may operate unexpectedly
under the following circumstances:
䳜 The detecting sensor or the sur
-
roundings are contaminated or
damaged
䳜 The temperature around the
front view camera is high or low
䳜 The camera lens is contaminated
due to tinted, filmed or coated
windshield, damaged glass, or
stuck of foreign material (sticker,
bug, etc.) on the glass
䳜 Moisture is not removed or frozen
on the windshield
䳜 Washer fluid is continuously
sprayed, or the wiper is on
䳜 Driving in heavy rain or snow, or
thick fog
䳜 The field of view of the front view
camera is obstructed by sun glare
