11.5.5 Pit ladders
Pit ladders are located on the shaft wall. They are equipped with safety switch.
NOTE! In elevators with the smallest pits, the pit ladders must be returned to the storage
position after climbing to the pit. When fixed to the door sill, the pit ladders interfere with
the required safety space in the pit. To block the doors, use the door blocking tool instead
of the pit ladders.
11.5.6 Emergency Battery Drive EBD-AB
NOTE! This is an optional component.
The purpose of the emergency battery drive feature is to move the elevator car to the nearest
floor in lig
hter direction when the elevator car has stopped between floors due to a power
supply failure. The device is external to control panel and it operates automatically when the
power supply fails.
The elevator moves at a low speed, and all safety functions are working. When the elevator
car arrives to the floor, the doors open. The elevator resets into normal operation
automatically when the power supply returns.
