11.5.3 Brake release lever
The brake release lever is used
for releasing the hoisting
machine brake manually.
1. Brake is closed (holding)
2. Brake is released (open)
11.5.4 Pit safety device
Opening the bottom floor landing door using the
emergency opening key activates the pit safety
device. The pit safety device prevents the elevator
car from descending to the working space in the pit
by activating the safety gears.

WARNING! Never enter the pit when the reset lever is turned to lower position (pit safety
device not activated).
