B.3 Resetting the pit safety device and shaft access monitor (SAM)
This section describes how to reset the pit safety device after returning to the landing, if the
elevator has shaft access monitor (SAM).
1. Check that Recall Drive Feature (270) is on.
Switch it on
, if it is off.
2. Check that main switch (220) is on. Switch it
on, if it is o
ff.
3. Press down the reset lever in the
mainten
ance access panel. (A)
4. Reset SAM by pressing simultaneously RDF
RUN 270:RB + SAM reset 14
1:P button in
MAP for at least 5 seconds, until the SAM
reset signal sounds.
5. Drive upwards on RDF: Press simultaneously
RDF RUN 27
0:RB, RDF 270:UP and 134:S for at maximum of 3 seconds to reset the pit
safety device.
CAUTION! Do not press the
buttons any longer than 3 seconds to avoid damaging the
coil of the reset device.
6. Switch off the RDF (270).
The SAM and the pit safety device are now reset.
