Testing the shaft access monitor battery
4 Travel down in the car floor-by-floor and
repeat the test above in all floors.
Reset the shaft access monitor after
every floor test. Use the topmost landing
key switch or the reset procedure in MAP
(described in APPENDIX B.1 on page
162).
NOTE! Keep the reset active for at
least 5 seconds. If you use the MAP
reset procedure, close and lock the
MAP after every reset.
5 Repeat the door opening detector test
also at the bottom floor.
NOTE! At the bottom floor, door
emergency opening activates also
the pit safety device.
Reset the pit safety device and SAM
after closing the doors.
1. Switch on the RDF (270).
2. Press lever in the maintenance access
panel down.
3.
If the elevator is equipped with SAM,
reset it by pr
essing simultaneously
RDF RUN 270:RB + SAM reset 141:P
button in MAP for at least 5 seconds,
until the SAM reset signal sounds.
4. Drive the elevator car upwards on
RDF. At th
e same time press
simultaneously RDF buttons 270:RB
and 134:S for at maximum of 3
seconds to reset the pit safety device.
CAUTION! Do not press th
e buttons any
longer than 3 seconds to avoid
damaging the coil of the reset device.
6 Record the test results to note book.
Step Action Illustration/Note
1 Travel in the car to MAP floor.
2 Make a landing call to the MAP floor. Allow the doors to open and ensure that
there are no passengers in the car.
3 Open the MAP.
Make a power break by switching the
main switch
220 in MAP off and on.
If the battery is operative, the elevator
returns t
o normal operation.
If not, check the shaft access monitor
battery
. Replace if needed.
4 Record the test results to note book.
