Reux detection
Forthereuxdetection,threeparametersaredened:Acidcut-offlimit, Acid threshold, and Min.reuxduration.
IfthepHdropsbelowtheacidcut-offlimitandstaysundertheacidthresholdforlongerthantheminimumreux
duration,areuxisfound.ThereuxendswhenthepHrisesabovetheacidthreshold.
Alkaline reux detection
Forthealkalinereuxdetection,threeparametersaredened:Alkalinecut-offlimit, Alkaline threshold, and Min.
reuxduration.IfthepHrisesabovethealkalinelimitandstaysabovethealkalinethresholdforlongerthanthe
minimumreuxduration,analkalinereuxisfound.ThealkalinereuxendswhenthepHdropsbelowthealkaline
threshold. Table4-2 lists the default settings for pH analysis.

The Longreuxdurationparameteristheminimumdurationinminutesrequiredforareuxtobecountedasalong
reux.
Reux counts for period at start
Ifselected,areuxthatstartsinperiod“A”(e.g.,upright)andendsinperiod“B”(e.g.,supine)iscountedasareux
duringperiod“A.”Ifitisnotselected,itiscountedasreuxduringperiod“B.
