To Perform a Traceroute
Using Web Manager
 To perform a Traceroute, click Diagnostics in the menu and select Traceroute.
Using the CLI
 To enter the command level: enable, trace route <host>
Using XML
 Not applicable.

To Configure the Diagnostic Log Output
Using Web Manager
 To configure the Diagnostic Log output, click Diagnostics in the menu and select Log.
Using the CLI
 To enter the command level: enable -> config -> diagnostics -> log
Using XML
 Include in your file:
<configgroup name=”diagnostics”>
and
Diagnostics:
Traceroute Settings
Description
Host Enter the IP address or DNS hostname. This address is used to show the path
between it and the EDS-MD device when issuing the traceroute command.
Protocol Select the traceroute protocol from the drop-down menu.
Submit (button) Click the Submit button after entering traceroute information.
Diagnostics: Log Description
Output Select a diagnostic log output type:
 Disable - Turn off the logging feature.
 Filesystem - Directs logging to /log.txt.
 Line (1 2 3 or 4) - Directs logging to the selected serial line.
Max Length Set the maximum length of the log.txt file in Kbytes.
Note: This setting becomes available when Filesystem is selected.
