5-30 LeeBoy Model 8515D Conveyor Paver
Maintenance
12. Reinstall covers.
13. Start the paver and check to be sure there are no
hydraulic oil leaks.
14. Let machine idle approximately 10 minutes to allow
the pump and motor cases to ll with hydraulic oil
and ensure pumps are not damaged.
Two-Speed Hydraulic Motors
1. Move paver onto a ramp where you can access the
undercarraige.
2. Disconnect, label and plug ttings on hydraulic
hoses to the hydraulic motors. (Figure 5-37)
Figure 5-37. Two-Speed Hydraulic Motors
3. Place blocks sufcient to support the hydraulic
motors underneath them.
4. Remove the two screws and lockwashers attaching
the hydraulic motor to the torque hub and carefully
separate motor from the torque hub.
5. Remove the O-Ring and drain hydraulic oil from the
motor. Discard or repair the motor as appropriate.
6. Lubricate a new O-ring with hydraulic oil and install
onto the torque hub.
7. Reattach new or rebuilt hydraulic motor to torque
hub and torque screws to 120 ft. lbs. (163 N•
8. Reconnect hydraulic hoses.
9. Start the engine and let machine idle for 10 minutes
to work air out of the hydraulic system.
10. Check for any leaks.
Tandem Gear Pump
Hydraulic uid is transmitted throughout the machine to
motors and cylinders, becoming pressurized according
to the resistance present. The uid is controlled by
valves and distributed through hoses and tubes. The
tandem gear pump plays a signicant role in producing
hydraulic power as it supplies hydraulic uid to system
components. It is located directly in front of the
hydraulic test ports on the right side of the machine.

To replace the tandem gear pump:
1. Remove the right side cover, right side access door
cover and top right side cover to access the pump.
2. Label and disconnect the hoses to the tandem gear
pump, plugging and capping the tting on the pump.
3. Label, plug and cap the hoses.
4. Remove the two screws attaching the auxiliary
pump to the pump plate cover.
5. Lift the auxiliary pump assembly out of the machine
and place on a at surface.
6. Remove the O-ring between the two pumps.
7. Put a small amount of hydrualic oil on the O-Ring
and reinstall between the pumps.
8. Align the mounting holes in the auxiliary pump with
the mounting on the pump.
9. Attach the pumps with the two mounting screws and
torque to 89 ft. lbs. (12 N•).
10. Remove plugs and caps to reconnect hydraulic
hoses to pumps as previously labeled.
11. Check hydrualic oil level. Add more if needed.
