COMPONENTS OVERVIEW
LeeBoy Tack Distributors are designed to provide
commercial pavers with an efcient and easily operated
unit for spraying emulsied asphalt, or “tack coat,”
for small or large commercial projects. The tack
distributor is a dependable, low-maintenance addition
to a contractor’s equipment eet for use with smaller
road construction and maintenance projects or along
pavement edges and curbs at large construction sites.
Featuring an oval, modular design for easier clean-out
and recirculation, the tack distributor is trailer-mounted
and available in two asphalt tank sizes: 300 or 600
gallons. With a 300,000 BTU burner system, the
LeeBoy Tack Distributors heat asphalt material fast.
All units are also equipped with an asphalt pump, a
six-foot spray wand, 40 feet (12.9 m) of heavy-duty
hose with recoiling hose reel, temperature gauge, ush
tank, propane gas tank (or diesel burner option), and a
contents gauge on front and back of the unit.
The tack tank units are pre-wired for towing and include
safety chains with a pintle eye hitch (or optional 2-inch
ball hitch). The L300 model is equipped with single-axle
electric brakes and an emergency break-away system.
The L600 model is equipped with electric brakes on
both axles and an emergency break-away brake system.

The L300 and L600 tack distributors are equipped
with a 4.8 HP (3.6 kW) Honda engine with a manual pull
starter. An electric starter and battery is an additional
option for the standard Honda engine
The optional Hatz diesel engine is 7 HP (5.4 kW) with a
manual pull start. The Hatz engine also offers an electric
starter and battery option.
Burner SystemBurner System
The burner system produces heat that is dissipated
through the asphalt. Flame from the burner at the front
of the asphalt tank is directed through V-ue tubes along
the bottom of the tank to heat the emulsied asphalt
material (tack coat) to desired temperature. The L300
and L600 tack distributors are equipped with an LPG
(propane) burner or optional diesel burner system.
Setting the correct material temperature depends upon
the type and grade of material, ambient temperature,
tank size and amount of material in the asphalt tank.
