Circulating SystemCirculating System
The circulating system has an engine-driven asphalt
pump for pumping tack material to circulate through the
spray wand (and spray bar if equipped with that option).
Asphalt volume also depends upon regulated variables,
including tack coat temperature, spray nozzle size and
PSI setting at the relief valve.
The tack distributors are equipped with a back ush
system for cleaning the tack tank distributor, which
should be done daily. Tack material can set inside
hoses and nozzles that will build up over time if not
ushed and cleaned regularly. Cleaning the tack tank
distributor is extremely important for preventing damage
to components.
Spray WandSpray Wand
The spray wand allows the operator to spray material
in small areas and along pavement edges and curbs.
The six-foot (1.8 m) spray wand features an on/off
valve and removable spray nozzle that can be easily
replaced by a different sized nozzle if desired. It also
features “cold handles,” keeping the handles cool to
the touch regardless of asphalt temperature. The
wand is attached to 40 feet (12.9 m) of heavy-duty hose
on a recoiling reel, offering considerable reach when
working.
Spray Bar OptionSpray Bar Option
An optional eight-foot (2.4 m) spray bar adds versatility
to coating applications. Mounted on the rear of the unit,
the spray bar allows operators to spray asphalt material
over a larger area, i.e., a road or driveway surface. The
spray bar is equipped with separate cut-off valves for
each of the six spray nozzles (three on each side) to
obtain the correct width for the job.
Other OptionsOther Options
Other optional components include an immersion
heater for maintaining asphalt temperature during cold
weather applications, or preventing asphalt from setting
up when stored overnight. Another optional package
is the in-truck cab control, which allows the operator
to operate the spray bar from inside the towing vehicle
cab. The diesel burner option includes an AUTO start
ignition system and Outre protection.
