DO NOT operate the burner while the
distributor is being towed.
Keep these items in mind before towing the tack tank
distributor and while in transit:
The vehicle towing the unit must be large enough
to handle the weight of the tack distributor. (See
Specications in Section 2.)
Ensure the pintle hook and safety chains are securely
fastened BEFORE towing.
Ensure lights and reectors are clean, in working
order, and visible to trafc.
Drive slowly and carefully while towing the distributor.
Reduce speed accordingly on rough or slippery roads
and when making turns.
Follow these instructions carefully to prepare for towing:
Attach trailer to towing vehicle.
1. The distributor should be parked on a level surface.
Place wheel chocks on both sides of the distributor
trailer tires. (Page 4-26)
2. Park the towing vehicle near the distributor trailer
pintle hook, engage the park brake, and shut off the
engine.

3. Use the trailer jack to raise (and lower) the trailer
to the height needed to attach trailer to the towing
vehicle hitch. (Figure 4-24)
Turn the handle clockwise to raise the trailer.
Turn the handle counterclockwise to lower the
trailer.

NEVER raise or lower trailer by any
other means than the trailer jack.
4. After attaching the towing vehicle hitch, ensure the
connection is secure.
5. Attach the two safety chains, preferably in a criss-
cross pattern, to the towing vehicle (beneath the
pintle hitch), ensuring the chain hooks are snapped
securely.
Connect lights and brakes.
Connect the lights and brakes to the receptacle on the
towing vehicle. (Figure 4-25)
NOTE: The connector cable supplied is 4.2 feet (1.2
m) long. Ensure the cable length is sufcient
for all turning situations before towing.
