13.3 Importing Data
Data can be imported to the internal memory of the instrument via a USB
memory stick.
When importing data, the instrument automatically stores the le in a direct-
ory folder based on the le extension. The following data formats can be
imported:
Data Type File extension Recognised as
GSI .gsi Fixpoints
HeXML .xml Fixpoints
ASCII any ASCII le extension
e.g. .txt
Fixpoints
Format .frt Format le
Codelist .cls Codelist le
Backup .db Backup of xpoints,
measurements and
conguration
1.
Select Transfer from the Main Menu.
2.
Select
Import.
•
Importing a backup folder will overwrite the existing conguration le and
code lists on the instrument, and all existing formats and jobs will be
deleted.
•
A backup can only be imported if the instrument database structure was
not changed by a rmware update. If the instrument rmware was
updated, it can happen that a backup created before the update cannot
be imported. In this case, downgrade the rmware to the previous used
version, save the data in the way required and then reload the new rm-
ware.
A ’+’, ’-’, ’.’ or alphanumerical characters should not be used as delimiter val-
ues in ASCII les. These characters can also be part of the point ID or coordin-
ate values and if so, will generate errors where they occur in the ASCII le.
