ReplacingaRAIDadapterbatteryorflashpowermodule
UsethisinformationtoreplaceaRAIDadapterbatteryorflashpowermodule.
WhenyouinstallanyRAIDadapterthatcomeswithbatteriesorflashpowermodules,itissometimes
necessarytoinstallthebatteriesorflashpowermodulesinanotherlocationintheservertopreventthe
batteriesorflashpowermodulesfromoverheating.Dependingonyourservermodel,abatteryorflash
powermodulemustbeinstalledremotelyneartheopticaldrivecageorthebackplane.The2.5-inchserver
modelssupportuptotwobatteriesorflashpowermodules.
ToinstallaRAIDadapterbatteryintheserver,completethefollowingsteps:

Step2.Turnofftheserverandperipheraldevicesanddisconnectallpowercordsandexternaldevices.

Step4.InstalltheServeRAIDadapteronthesystemboard(see“ReplacingaServeRAIDSAS/SATA
controller”onpage231)orinstalltheServeRAIDadapterontherisercardandinstalltheriser-card
assemblyintheserver(see“Replacinganadapter”onpage226
).
Step5.ConnectoneendofthecabletotheRAIDadaptermemorymodule.
