Traction Drive: Park Brake
The
park brake
is
applied
when
brake
lever
(A)
is
locked
in
the
up
position
.
Adjust park brake after the
first
10
hours
of
operation
and
every 100 hours
th
er
ea
fter.
To
increase brake
force
:
1. Move lever
(A)
down
to
relea
se
brake.
2.
Tum
knob (8) clockwise
(towards
the
seat)
until
brake
force is adequate.
Force
required
to
raise
lever
to th
e engaged position should be 70
to
90
lb
•. (300 -
400
N)
.
NOTE
:
When
brakes
are
approximately
half
wom,
knob (8)
will
reach the
end
of the adjustment
range
.
At
this time, perfonn
the
following
adjustment
:
1. Tum knob (8) counter-dockwise (towards the
side console), back to the beginning of the
adjustment range.
2.
At
the
rear
of
both
tractor
frame
legs,
remove
locknut
(C)
and
reta
ining bar
(D)
.
Move
lin
k
(E)
to welded bolt
(F)
and
replac
e
reta
ining bar
and
locknut.
3.
Tum
locknut (e) until
the
gap
between
the
head
of the welded
bolt
(F)
and retaining bar (0) is
3
/8
inch (10 mm) as shown.
4. Tum knob (8)
on
brake lever clockwise until .
brake force is adequate. Force required
to
raise
lever to the engaged position should
be
70
to
90 lb . (300 - 400
N)
.
NOTE: When installing n
ew
brake bands, return
link
(E)
to
original position, both sides, and adjust
hardware as shown.
