Ignition Test
1. Make sure the external manual gas supply
valve is turned o.
2. Make sure the TEMPERATURE control
dial is turned to OFF.
3. Open the left endframe door.
4. Remove the “out” port plug to the gas
valve (Figure 2-20, B) and connect a water
column manometer.
5. Turn power ON at the main disconnect
switch.
6. Open the gas shut-o valve at the rear of
the ironer.
7. Press the green START button and turn the
SPEED knob to the slowest speed.
8. Set the TEMPERATURE control dial
(Figure 2-21, A) to 300º F (150º C).
9. After 15 seconds, listen for sounds indicat-
ing the pilot ignition sequence has started
and the pilot burner is igniting. The HEAT-
ING indicator lamp should be lit.
10. If the burner does not re properly, the
ignition control will go into a lock out
condition. This is indicated by a ashing
LED on the control (Figure 2-22).
11. Turn the TEMPERATURE control dial
to OFF.
12. Wait a few seconds and then turn the con-
trol back to 300º F (150º C).
13. It may take several attempts before all of
the air is purged from the gas line.
14. Once the burner is successfully lit, im-
mediately check the manometer pressure
indication.
15. There must be sucient, steady gas pres-
sure of 3-1/2” (.9 kPa) for natural gas, or
10” to 11” (2.5 kPa to 2.75 kPa) for LP
gas as indicated on the manometer (if us-
ing manufactured gas, contact the Factory
Service Department).
16. As appropriate:
• If the gas pressure is within limits, go
to Step 18.
• If the gas pressure is not within these
limits, recheck the supply pressure.
Refer to Gas Supply on page 2-20.
• If necessary, adjust the gas valve’s
built-in pressure regulator (Figure
2-20, C). Go to the next step.
