Clarified that a fully populated VM600 system rack
(ABE04x) should be considered as a heavy object that
requires two people to safely handle manually
(see Heavy objects and the risk of injury on page xvii and
8.3.4 Instructions for locating and mounting).
Clarified slot number coding for VM600 racks, notably the
default slot number coding for the VM600 slimline rack
(ABE056) and how to change the slot number (see
2.1.2.1 Slot number coding for cards in the rear of a VM600
slimline rack and 2.1.2.2 Changing the slot number for a
VM600 slimline rack).
Clarified the different types of power supply redundancy –
internal and external power supply redundancy – and the
associated rear panels that are suitable for each
(see 2.10.7 VM600 racks and power supply redundancy,
Table 2-1 and 2.10.9 Associated rear panels).
Clarified operation of 5V LED on RPS6U rack power supply
for a VM600 rack with two RPS6U rack power supplies
connected to two external mains supplies, that is,
supporting external mains power-supply system
redundancy (see 2.10.8 Front panels).
Added note that empty/unpopulated rack slots must be
covered by a blank panel (see 2.1.1 VM600 system rack –
19" rack with a height of 6U (ABE04x), 2.1.2 VM600
slimline rack – 19" rack with a height of 1U (ABE056) and
2.10.9 Associated rear panels).
Added maximum switching current information for power
supply check relays (see 2.10.10 Power supply check relay
and 2.11.1 Power supply check relay).
Clarified that six Tacho Bus lines are available for
speed/tacho signal sharing and two Tacho Bus lines are
reserved for cold-junction compensation (CJC)
(see Figure 3-1 and Figure 3-2, 3.4.1 General overview,
3.4.2 Tacho Bus and Figure 3-5).
Clarified operation and ranges of analog (DC) outputs for
MPC4/IOC4T card pairs (see 4.4.4 DC outputs).
Clarified operation and ranges of analog (DC) outputs for
AMC8/IOC8T card pairs (see 5.3.2 DC outputs).
Clarified that thermocouple (TC) inputs to an AMC8/IOC8T
card pair do not detect line-fault conditions (see 5.9.1 OK
system checking).
Added information on the latest version of the CPUM card
fitted with the additional/redundant serial communications
module (PNR 200-595-082-533 or later). See
6 CPUM / IOCN card pair and 13 Configuration of
CPUM / IOCN cards.
Corrected IOCN connector terminology with
6P6C (RJ11/RJ25) replaced by 6P6C (RJ12/RJ25)
(see Figure 2-13, 6 CPUM / IOCN card pair and
13 Configuration of CPUM / IOCN cards).
Updated the description of the MPC4 card’s shaft absolute
vibration processing to clarify the processing performed by
the MPC4 card, and the associated configuration options
and requirements (see 7.5 Shaft absolute vibration).
Clarified grounding options for IOC4T cards
(see Figure 9-28
).
Updated power supply for various types of sensors table
include the IPC707 signal conditioner (see Tabl e 9-2 ).
