6. Install new pistonpin lock rings (each side ofpis-
ton) using Lockring Tool (91-77109A1).
7. Makesurelockringsareproperlyseatedinpiston
grooves.
CAUTION
Do not re-use piston pin lockrings. Use only new
lockringsandmakesuretheyareproperlyseated
in piston grooves.

91-77109A1 must be modified (shortened) to 1.050
in. (26.7 mm).

IMPORTANT: Piston ring side with letter or mark
must be facing up.

Piston rings are TAPEREDtop side, and flat(rectan-
gular) on the bottom side (half-keystone rings).

CAUTION
Care must be taken not to scratch the side sur-
faces of ring groove. Scratching this area will
damage the ring groove.
