Gear Housing Removal
WARNING
To prevent accidental engine starting, remove
(and isolate) spark plug leads from spark plugs
before removing gear housing.
1. Remove (and isolate) spark plug leads from
spark plugs.
2. Shift into NEUTRAL.
3. Loosen jam nut. Unscrew attaching nut to separate
shift shaft.

4. Make a scribe line showing alignment of trim tab
to gear case and remove trim tab bolt and wash-
er.

5. Remove nut and washer in trim tab cavity.
