4-OPERATINGINSTRUCTIONS
Batterycombiner
Yourvehicleisequippedwithabatterycombiner.Thecombinerfunctionstoprotectsensitiveelectronicequipment
duringcrankingbyseparatingthebatterybanks(startingtwobatteries,electronics-onebattery)
Whenenginecrankingiscompleted,thecombinersensesacharginglevelvoltageover13.1V(directcurrent)and
combinesthebatterybanks.Thisallowsmachinetohaveallthreebatteriesatitsdisposalduringoperation.
Whenthemachineisshutoff(engineturnedoff),thecombinerwillonceagainseparatethebatterybankswhenthe
voltagedropsbelow12.7V(directcurrent).
Withthebatteriesseparated,thenormalloadsonthemachineareisolatedtoonlytheelectronicsbattery.Ifthe
operatorwastodrainthisbattery(leavelightson,leavetheeldcomputeron,etc.),thestartingbatterybankwould
seenoilleffect,meaningtheywouldstaycompletelychargedsincetheyareseparatedfromtheelectronicsbattery.
Thebatterycombinerswitch(1)islocatedunderthestoragetray(2)behindthetrainingseat(3).Toaccessthe
combinerswitch,removethestoragetray.

Thecombinerswitchisintendedforuseonlyiftheelectronicsbatteryhasbeendrained.Byturningtheswitchto
theONposition,thecombinermanuallycombinesthebatterybanks,andbackfeedsthesystem,whichallowsthe
machinetostartusingthefullychargedstartingbatteries.
NOTE:Whentheswitchisinthe“On”position,thebatteriesarecombinedatalltimes.Leavethecombinerswitchin
the“On”positionuntilthedrainedbatteryischarged.Wheneverthebatteriesarecombinedthecombinerswitch(1)
willbeilluminated.Thecombinestateisalsoshownontheelectricalpageinthesecondhomepageofthearmrest
display.
Whenthemachinehasstartedandthealternatorbeginstochargethedrainedbattery,theswitchmustbeplacedin
theAutopositiontoensureintendedfunctionalityofcombinersystem.
NOTE:LeavethecombinerswitchintheOnpositionuntilthedrainedbatteryischarged.
