Thisprocedureisvalidforboththereturnlter(1)and
thecasedrainlter(2).
1.Drivethevehicleontoahard,levelsurface.
2.Shutoffthevehicleengineandremovethekeyfrom
theignition.
3.Allowtheengineandsurroundingcomponentstocool
beforeservicing.
4.Accessthehydraulicoiltankthroughtheenginecom-
partmentslidingdoor.Theoilltersareattachedtothe
topofthehydraulictank.
5.Removetheboltsaroundtheltercap.Removethe
lterelementfromthelterhousing.
6.Replacetheelementwithanewelement.Besureto
reinstallallgaskets.IfgasketsorO-ringsaredeterio-
rated,replacewithnewparts.
7.Replacethelterassemblyintothehousing,being
carefultolineituptoproperlyseatthelterassembly
inthehousing.
8.Placetheholdingspringonthehubofthecap.Make
suretoreinstalltheO-ringseal.Reinstallthecapand
tightenthebolts,beingsurethespringandO-ringare
properlyseatedsothesuctionltersealstothefaceof
thelterhousing.
