7-MAINTENANCE
Fuelsystemairremoval
Aircanenterthefuelsysteminthefollowingsituations:
Ifthefueltankbecomesemptyorislowonfuel.
Afterfuelsystempartshavebeenremovedforservice
orrepairs.
Ifthechassishasbeeninstorageforalongperiodof
time.
Usethefollowingproceduretoremoveairfromthefuel
system:
1.Makesurethereisfuelinthetank,checkthegauge.
2.Loosentheairscrew(1).
3.Operatethehandprimerpump(2)tollthefuellter.
Tightenthescrewwhenfuelwithnoairbubblesows
fromthescrew.Collecttheuidsinacontainerand
disposeofproperly.
4.Pumphandprimerpumpuntilhardtopump,then
crankenginefornomorethan30seconds.
5.Repeatthepreviousstepuntilenginestarts.
NOTICE:Ifenginewillnotstart,itmaybenecessaryto
disconnectthelowpressurefuellineatthefeedpumpon
theengineandusethehandprimerpump(2)untilfuel
withnoairbubblesowsfromtheline.Collecttheuids
inacontaineranddisposeofproperly.Reconnectfuel
lineandstartengine.Seeyourservicerepresentativeif
required.
