Ramp 117
Obstacle Detection Feature
The power ramp is equipped with an Obstacle Detection Fea-
ture. If an obstacle is preventing the ramp from completing the
deployment, the ramp will stop its deployment trajectory and
rapidly chime four times. Once the obstacle is removed, the
deployment button can be pressed again and the deployment
can be completed.
CAUTION:
If the ramp stops deploying and the obstacle
detection feature has not detected an obstacle, try to retract
the ramp and then attempt deployment again. If the ramp will
not retract or deploy, do not continue to press the ramp IN
and OUT switches. Either retract the ramp manually by
following the Ramp Retraction - Mechanical Override
procedure on page 119 or have the vehicle towed to an
authorized MV-1 Service Center.
REASON: Continuing to press the IN and OUT switches
when the ramp is not working could cause damage to the
electrical and mechanical components of the ramp. Any
damage incurred by improper use may not be covered under
warranty.
