Replacement Keys
If your keys are lost or stolen and you don’t have an extra
coded key, you will need to have your vehicle towed to an
authorized service center. The key codes need to be erased
from your vehicle and new coded keys will need to be pro-
grammed.
Replacing coded keys can be very costly. Store an extra pro-
grammed key away from the vehicle in a safe place to help
prevent any inconveniences. Additional spare or replacement
keys can be purchased from an authorized service center.
Programming Spare Keys
A maximum of eight keys can be coded to your vehicle. Only
keys for this anti-theft system can be used. To program a
coded key yourself, you will need two previously programmed
coded keys (keys that already operate your vehicle’s engine)
and the new unprogrammed key(s) readily accessible.
NOTE:
If two previously programmed coded keys are not
available, you must bring your vehicle to your authorized
service center to have the spare key(s) programmed. This
service may require a labor charge for programming.
Please read and understand the entire procedure before you
begin.
1. Insert the first previously programmed coded key into the
ignition and turn the ignition from the OFF position to the
ON position. Leave the key in the ON position for at least
one second but for no more than 10 seconds.
2. Turn the ignition from the ON position back to the OFF
position in order to remove the first coded key from the
ignition.
3. Within 10 seconds of removing the first coded key, insert
the second previously programmed coded key into the
ignition and turn the ignition from the OFF position to the
ON position. Leave the key in the ON position for at least
one second but no more than 10 seconds.
4. Turn the ignition from the ON position back to the OFF
position in order to remove the second coded key from the
ignition.
5. Within 10 seconds of removing the second coded key,
insert the new unprogrammed key into the ignition and
turn the ignition from the OFF position to the ON posi-
tion. Leave the key in the ON position for at least one sec-
ond, but for no more than 10 seconds. This step will
program your new key to a coded key.
