Cleaning the Scanner’s Window
Readingperformancemaydegradeifthescanner’swindowisnot
clean.Ifthewindowisvisiblydirty,orifthescannerisnotoperating
well,cleanthewindowwithasoftclothorlenstissuedampenedwith
water(oramilddetergent‐watersolution).Ifadetergentsolutionis
used,rinse
withacleanlenstissuedampenedwithwateronly.
Thebaseandscanner’shousingmayalsobecleanedthesameway.
Caution: DonotsubmergetheImagerinwater.Thescanner’s
housingisnotwatertight.
Caution: Donotuseabrasivewipesortissuesontheimage’s
window–abrasivewipesmay
scratchthewindow.Neveruse
solvents(forexample,alcoholoracetone)onthehousingorwindow
–solventsmaydamagethefinishorthewindow.
