Communication Between the Cordless System and the Host
Thecordlessscannerprovidesimmediatefeedbackintheformofa
“goodread”indication(agreenLEDonthescannerandanaudible
beep)afterabarcodeisscannedcorrectlyandthebasehas
acknowledgedreceivingthedata.Thisispossible sincethecordless
systemprovidestwowaycommunication
betweenthescannerandthe
base.
Whendataisscanned,thedataissenttothehostsystemviathebase
unit.Confirmationfromthehostsystemorthebaseindicates thatthe
datasentwasreceivedbythehost.Thecordlessscannerrecognizes
dataacknowledgement(ACK)fromthebaseunit.
Ifitcannotbe
determinedthatthedatahasbeenproperlysenttothebase,th e
scannerissuesanerrorindication.Youmustthenchecktoseeifthe
scanneddatawasreceivedbythehostsystem.
