Connecting the Base with RS-232 Serial Port

1. Turnoffpowertotheterminal/computer.

2. Connecttheappropriateinterfacecabletothebase.

Note: Forthebasetoworkproperly,youmusthavethecorrectcable

foryourtypeofterminal/computer.

3. Plugtheserialconnectorintotheserialportonyourcomputer.

Tightenthetwoscrewsto

securetheconnectortotheport.

4. Plugthepowersupplybarrelconnectortothebaseandplugthe

powersupplyintotheACsource.

5. Oncethebasehasbeenfullyconnected,powerupthecomputer.

mustmatchforcorrectdatatransfer

throughtheserialportusingRS‐

232protocol.ScanningtheRS‐232interfacebar code,programsthe

scannerforanRS‐232interfaceat38,400ba ud, parity–none,8 data

bits,1stopbit,andaddsasuffixofaCRLF.
