The Voice Alarm System (VAS) provides a voice evacuation subsystem for the AFC-
600 Fire Alarm Control Panel. Operating features include automatic evacuation
messaging, local and fire fighter control of paging, and two-way communications in an
emergency situation. A paging microphone, a master telephone handset and control
unit, coupled with a fully electronic emergency message recorder, ACS annunciator for
speaker and telephone control, and easy-to-use operator controls provide the AFC-600
with a state-of-the-art emergency communications subsystem.

All field circuits—speaker circuits or telephone circuits—are fully supervised and
power limited by the control panel. The Fire Fighter’s Command Center is fully field
programmable, and does not require special tools or equipment. Operating features
include the following:
• Prerecorded evacuation messages and tones
• Voice announcement over the system’s speakers from any Fire Fighter’s Telephone
• Dual channel option
• Style Y or Z speaker circuit operation
• Audio amplifiers with switch-mode power supplies
• All Call voice paging switch
• Field configurable and programmable modules
