9. CONNECTION DIAGRAMS
9.3.5 FW Update flow in case of Error 049
(for MB451, MB451w)
Step1 Connect the MFP and PC which is installed the Maintenance Utility (hereinafter
referred to as MU) via USB cable.
Step2 Push the power switch on the MFP, pressing simultaneously the "1" and "right(
→
)"
key of the operation panel.
Step3 Wait for about 1 minute untill the "Error 049" is displayed on the LCD, and press
simultaneously the "1" and "right(
→
)" key in the meantime.
Step4 Confirm the connection between the MFP and MU.
Step5 Send the indicated new FW Suite (CU version 01.28 or later) to the MFP.
Refer to the Maintenance Utility Operating Manual adout the method of sending.
Step6 Wait for 5 minutes from disappearance of "connecting" on status bar in the MU
main window.
Step7 P o w e r o f f t h e M F P.
Step8 Same as step2.
Step9 Same as step3.
Step10 Same as step4.
Step11 Send the PJL (44946001FZ07) to the MFP.
Step12 Confirm that the response is "PASSED".
Refer to the Maintenance Utility Operating Manual adout the method of receiving
the response.
Step13 Same as step7.
Step14 Power on the MFP.
Step15 Confirm that the MFP is booting up normally.
Note! This FW update should be removed the TEL cable from the Scanner unit of the mainbody.
