Choose the part of the viewfinder to set focus to. The default setting is
i (Wide).
Set in [Select AF point] in the [A Rec. Mode 2] menu (p.77).
Selecting the Focusing Area (AF Point)

Wide The camera automatically selects the optimum AF point.
O
Spot Sets the focusing area to the center of the viewfinder.
The AF point is fixed to the O (Spot) regardless of this setting with lenses
other than DA, DA L, D FA, FA J, FA or F lenses.
