10.02.06 Cutting force (8311 – DUAL Cut&Seal model)
In the 8311 versions with DUAL Cut&Seal, the cutting wheel force of the cutting wheel is
determined with a stepping motor by means of a torsion spring drive. It is determined with
an input/calibration function and stored in the control.
The force of the cutting wheel can be called up by pressing the cutting force touch field
on the manual welding screen. A new screen will open for this purpose. The special “CUT
ONLY” key temporarily reduces the DUAL Cut&Seal function to a mere cutting function by
extending the cutting wheel to the maximum value.
The cutting force can be directly increased or decreased in increments with the / keys.
The key (cutting on/off) is used to activate or deactivate the cutting wheel.
A deactivated cutting wheel is indicated with CUT OFF. The cutting force is not added to the
welding force when the rollers are closed. The cutting force actual value display remains at 0.
The cutting wheel is in its upper switch-off position and is not engaged.
The activated cutting wheel remains in its switch-off position when the rollers are open. The
cutting force actual value display remains at 0.
When the rollers are closed, the activated cutting wheel is engaged by its stepping motor
by means of the torsion spring drive with the set cutting force. It is added to the existing
welding force of the anvil wheel (controlled with force welding – unregulated with gap
welding).
The calculated partial forces and the total force are displayed.
Special “CUT ONLY” function
The activated cutting wheel is extended to the maximum value with the special “CUT
ONLY” function. Then the welding wheel is not engaged

The cutting wheel remains extended when the rollers are open. All indicated actual force
displays remain at 0.
The welding force is controlled when the rollers are closed. The entered cutting force is
ignored. The cutting force display (above the ignored setpoint value) remains at 0.
