Safety Considerations
The UPS enclosures are designed for industrial or computer room applications. and
contain safety shields behind the doors. However, the UPS is a sophisticated power
system and should be handled with appropriate care, following these guidelines:
l
Keep surroundings clean and tree

excess moisture.

Do not operate the UPS close to gas or
elect&
heat
sources.
l
The system is not intended for outdoor use.
l
The UPS operating environment should be maintained within the
parameters stated in this book.
l
Keep the UPS doors closed to ensure proper cooling airflow and
to protect personnel from dangerous voltages inside the unlt.
l
The UPS contains

own power source. Lethal voltages are’
present even when the UPS Is disconnected from utility power.
WARNING:

Only AUTHORIZED SERVICE PERSONNEL should parformeervlce or
maintenance on the UPS or battery.
If service or routine UPS maintenance is required:

Be sure all power
is
dlaconnected before performing installation
or service.
l
Be sure the area around the UPS system is clean and
uncluttered.
l
Battey
cabinet maintenance or battery replacement should be
pertormed only by authorized servtce personnel.
l
Obaewe all DANGER, CAUTION, and WARNING notices
