Preparing the UPS for Installing Battery Cabinets
After you install one or more battery cabinets, you can either join them to the UPS
cabinet or leave them
as
stand-alone units. You must prepare the UPS cabinet for
either method of battery cabinet installation. Refer to Drawing 164200253-4 on
page A- 11 for the locations of the items mentioned in these procedures.

more
battery cabinets:
1.
Remove the right cosmetic cover and the right side panel of the UPS and set
them aside for future use.
2.
Open the doors
of
the UPS.
3. Remove the lower safety shield. Set the safety shield and hardware aside for
later reuse.
4. Remove the knockout in the bottom right front
of
the UPS cabinet
To prepare the UPS for one or more
&d-alone
battery cabinets:
1.
Open the doors of the UPS.
2. Remove the safety shield located behind the doors. Set the safety shield and
hardware aside for later reuse.
3. Using a hex key tool, remove the battery cable from terminals E4 and
ES
on K2.
Discard the cable.
