Performing Preventive Maintenance
The UPS requires very littte preventlle maintenance. However, the UPS should be
inspected periodically to verify that the unit is operating normally and that me batteries are
in good condition.
You should
perfomt
these
checks

l
Check me area surrounding the UPS Se sure the area is uncluttered, giving
free access to the unit.
l
Be sure the air intakes (vents on the front doors) and exhaust fan (on top of
the UPS cabinet) are not blocked.
l
Se sure that there is at least 6 inches of clearance behind the unk for proper
air circulation.
l
Be sure that me operating environment is within
me
parameten
specitied in
“Product Spacktcations’ on page NO TAG.
l
Be sure that the UPS is in Norma) mode (the Norma) status indicator is tit). If
an alarm lamp is iii. or me Norma) status indicator is not iii. contact Customer
Support.
You should perform these checks

that all status indicator lamps are operative.
(Press the

pushbuttons simultaneously to test the lamps.)

Monitor system pammaters as described in ‘Using the Monitoring Panel’ on
page 19.

Check the air fitters (located behind the front doors) and replace them as
neceswy.
