The Control Panel contains these controls:
l The Mode switch is a two-position rotary switch that controls the manual transfer of
the UPS to and from Bypass mode. You oan use this switch to:
- Place the criticel load on bypass if the UPS is operating in Normal
mode, and if the bypass source is within acceptable limits. if the
transfer does not occur within 2 seconds, an atarm sounds. You cannot
silence this elarm until the transfer is complete. or until you switch the
Mode switch back to Normal.
- Prevent transfer to Normal mode when the UPS is in Bypass mode.

l The Battery switch is a twc-position rotary switch that allows you to manually
enable or disable the battery contactor.
l The Clrcult Breaker (CSl) switch controls the operation of the recthier and
inverter. If CSl is on (closed), the rectifier turns on when the keyswkch is
activated and the proper voltage is at the input terminals..
l The Power Off Reset is described in ‘Resetting the Power oft Control’ on
page 51..
l The keyawftch activates the power controls on the Control Panel. The
keyswitch is center-biased (the key will rest onfy in the upright position). its
operation is similar to that of an automobile ignitkm switch.
After setting the
operator controls, you turn the keyswitch to the right momentarily to activate
the controls. When you release it. it returns to the upright positton.
The following sections describe how you can operate these controts to start. stop, or
change me operating mode of the UPS.
To alace the UPS in Normal mode :
1. Move me CR1 switch to ON
2. Turn me Battery switch to NCRML
3. Turn me Hoda switch to NORMAL
4. BesurethePawarORReaatbuttonispreasedin.
5. Turn the keyWtch to me right momenta@.
The rectifier turns on. men the imwrter turns on. when the inveder reaches full voltage.
it turns on and supplies power to the aiticeJ toad. lt takes less than 1 minute for the
UPS to achieve Normal mode.
lfabypasssou~isavailablewhenywtummekeyswitchon.theaiticalloadie
immediately supplied by me bypass source in Sypeas mode until the inverter turns on
and the UPS transfers to Normal mode. The status indicatom on the Monitor Per’tef
indicate when the UPS is in Sypass mods and Norrnat mode.
