2.2 General safety information

Possible consequence: Fatal or very serious inju‐
ries.
Please ensure when handling hazardous sub‐
stances that you have read the latest safety data
sheets provided by the manufacture of the haz‐
ardous substance. The actions required are
described in the safety data sheet. Check the
safety data sheet regularly and replace, if neces‐
sary, as the hazard potential of a substance can be
re-evaluated at any time based on new findings.
The system operator is responsible for ensuring
that these safety data sheets are available and that
they are kept up to date, as well as for producing
an associated hazard assessment for the worksta‐
tions affected.
Live parts!
n Measure: ensure that all equipment is de-energised before
opening the housing or carrying out assembly work.
n Disconnect damaged or faulty instruments from the power
supply, as well as instruments that have been tampered with.
Unauthorised access!
n Measure: ensure that there can be no unauthorised access to
the unit
Operating faults!
n Ensure that the unit is only operated by adequately qualified
and technically expert personnel
n Please also observe the operating instructions for sensors and
fittings and any other assemblies that may be fitted, such as
sample water pumps ...
n The operator is responsible for ensuring that personnel are
qualified
Correct sensor operation
n Correct measuring and dosing is only possible if the sensor is
working perfectly
n Check and calibrate the sensor regularly
The controller is constructed with IP 67 degree of protection, is pro‐
tected against fluids, and complies with NEMA 4X degree of pro‐
tection (interior areas) in terms of air impermeability. These stand‐
ards are only met if all seals and threaded connectors are correctly
dimensioned and fitted.
