Installation on a Train
The recommended mounting procedure involves the following aspects:
Four metal damper legs installed on the train rooftop rails.
The damper legs are designed to absorb impact in three dimensions.
Crossbars mounted on the dampers
The antenna attached to the crossbars
The procedure below describes an example of recommended mount components and
fastening hardware. Contact Gilat technical support for specific mounting solutions.
A physical inspection of the mounting area is generally advised
prior to installation, to insure proper preparation and selection of
the correct mounting method and shock absorber strength.
To mount the antenna on a train:
1. Plan the location of the antenna on the train rooftop and mark fastening
positions of the damper legs on the rooftop rails. The distance between the mid-
points of each leg should be 95.25 cm (37.5 inches).
