Alternative Power Connection Directly to Battery
You can also connect the system directly to the vehicle 12 V battery.

Take special care when connecting the system directly to the vehicle’s battery. It is
recommended that an external, single pole double throw (SPDT) relay be installed.
This will ensure that the power you are providing for the system will not interfere
with normal vehicle functions as it will be an isolated source.
A minimum 14AWG wire should be used when running the power in this manner.
The following illustration provides information to complete this modification.
