1 System Purpose and Overview
The series of the R&S SCV8000 compact transmitter (Compact Tx) combines all modules
of a TV transmitter, with the exception of the channel filter, in two to four 19’’ rackmounts –
1 or 2 exciters, 1 base amplifier and, if necessary, 1 extended amplifier.
The transmission is carried out according to international modulation standards for digital
and analog terrestrial television in the UHF frequency range. With respect to power, it cov-
ers the lower medium power segment.
The supported standards and modulation parameters are listed in the "Technical Data" sec-
tion.
Note The transmitter characteristics comply with the relevant standard specifications and EN
standards thus meeting international requirements.
About this Manual
The present system manual describes the transmitter types R&S SCV8000E (single trans-
mitter) and R&S SCV8000R (transmitter with standby exciter). Due to the variety of possible
variants, the illustrations are limited to an exemplary representation. However, any special
features of the individual transmitter types are described separately.
