1) Preparations for engine installation
1.1) State of delivery
Attachment
The engine can be attached with steel angles anchored on a timber plate.
- When the engine is delivered, check that the GENUINE-ROTAX pack-
ing is not damaged.
- If the packing is damaged, contact the authorised sales and service
partner for ROTAX aircraft engines.
1.2) Unpacking/handling of the engine

To unpack a new engine, proceed as follows:

Suspension point The engine to be lifted by two hooks or straps around the middle (A) of
the intake manifolds.
See chapter engine views, numbering of cylinders and definitions of main
axes.
Risk of consequential damage to engine and aircraft
as a result of corrosion and damage.
Under no circumstances is a corroded or damaged
engine to be installed in an aircraft!
The attachment screws are only for transport and
must not be used in the aircraft.
Step Procedure
1 Remove the wooden cover.
2 Remove the protective packaging.
3 Remove the protective film around the engine.
Step Procedure
1 Check that the serial number and engine type designation on the
type plate are identical to those shown on the delivery note.
2 Check the engine for damage or corrosion. If everything is
deemed "OK", the engine can be accepted.
