4.48 Bell Footpiece Traction
Crank Assembly (73010).
A. Removal
(1) Loosen clamping knob (1,Fig.4-79) and back out
allen screw (2) that secures rotary mechanism
(3) or any accessory to bell traction assem-
bly (4).
(2) Loosen drop handle assembly (5) and remove
bell traction assembly (4) from table.
B. Disassembly
(1) Remove drop handle assembly (5,Figure 4-79)
from clamp weldment (6).
(2) Remove clamping knob (1) and screw (2) that
secure accessories to end of traction barrel (7).
(3) Remove two screws (8), two traction rollers (9),
and clamp weldment (6) from traction slide (10).
(4) Remove three set screws that hold threaded
barrel bushing (11) onto barrel (7).
NOTE
It may be necessary to use a rubber mallet to remove
crank assembly from barrel. Use care not to damage
components.
(5) Carefully, pull out crank assembly (12) and
traction slide (10).
(6) Remove traction slide (10) from crank assem-
bly (12).
(7) Loosen set screw in crank handle (13) and
remove handle, flange bearing (14), barrel
bushing (11), washer (15) and klipring (16) from
traction screw (17).
