GEAR POSITION SWITCH INSPECTION

. Disconnect the gear position switch coupler and check the
continuity between Blue and
Blackwhite with the transmis-
sion in
"NEUTRAL'.

When disconnecting and connecting the gear positlon
switch coupler, make sure to turn
OFF the ignition
switch, or electronic parts may get damaged.
ON
(Neutral)
OFF (Except neutral)
Connect the gear position switch coupler to the wiring har-
ness.
Turn the ignition switch to "ON" position.
Measure the voltage between Pink and Blackwhite lead
wires using the multi-circuit tester when shifting the gearshift
lever from low to top.

Use
the speclal tool, to prevent the rubber of the water
proof coupler from damage.
NEUTRAL INDICATOR
If the neutral indicator light does not function properly, check the
GP
switch and its lead wire/coupler.
If
the
GP
switch and its lead wirelcoupler are functioning prop-
erly, replace the bulb with a new one.
