Printer-Mode Output
If you want to monitor instrument operation with a printer, the 5071A has an
operating mode that automatically sends operational or warning messages out the
serial port to a printer (or terminal).
These "unprompted" messages may be inconvenient when the instrument is
controlled by a computer and can be suppressed with the DIAG:LOG:VERB
DISABLE command line.
The messages can then be obtained from the instruments non-volatile
log on demand.
